MIR4 Dragon Material Crafting: What a Legendary Scale, Claw, Leather, Horn and Eye Really Cost
The full Glittering Powder, Darksteel and Copper bill for every MIR4 Dragon material at each grade, and how those materials feed the Dragon Artifact craft.

A Legendary Dragon Scale sits in your bag as one item. Built from the bottom, it is 500,000 Uncommon materials, 287,500 Glittering Powder, 87.5 million Darksteel and 250 million Copper in combine fees.
That gap between what the item looks like and what it actually cost is why so many crafting plans stall halfway. This guide breaks down the full bill for every Dragon material (Scale, Claw, Leather, Horn and Eye) at each grade, then follows that material into the Dragon Artifact craft where most of them end up. Every number comes from the game data behind Mirkit's calculators and Wemade's patch notes, at base price.
A Legendary Dragon material in MIR4 takes 300 + 100 + 100 Legendary crafting materials. Built from Uncommon, that is 500,000 materials plus 287,500 Glittering Powder, 87,500,000 Darksteel and 250,000,000 Copper in combine fees, before the final craft fee.
How a Dragon material is built
Every Dragon material uses the same recipe: 300 of a primary material and 100 each of two secondary ones, all at the grade you are crafting. A Legendary Dragon Scale wants Legendary inputs, an Epic one wants Epic inputs. The category only decides which three materials go in.
The five Dragon materials fall into three families:
- Dragon Scale and Dragon Claw: Steel, Evil Minded Orb and Moon Shadow Stone
- Dragon Leather: Steel, Quintessence and Exorcism Bauble
- Dragon Horn and Dragon Eye: Platinum, Illuminating Fragment and Anima Stone
Notice that Steel shows up in three of the five. Plan a Legendary Scale, Claw and Leather together and you need 900 Legendary Steel against 100 of each secondary, so Steel is the material to stockpile first.
Getting those inputs to the right grade is where the cost lives. Materials combine 10 to 1 at every step, so one Legendary material is worth 10 Epic, 100 Rare or 1,000 Uncommon ones. Tradable and normal copies count the same, since the game spends them interchangeably.
What one combine costs
Combining is not free. Every single material you produce burns Glittering Powder, Darksteel and Copper, and the fee climbs steeply with the grade:
- Rare: 2 Glittering Powder, 1,000 Darksteel, 2,000 Copper
- Epic: 25 Glittering Powder, 5,000 Darksteel, 20,000 Copper
- Legendary: 125 Glittering Powder, 25,000 Darksteel, 100,000 Copper
The fee is charged per output, not per batch. Turning 3,000 Epic Steel into 300 Legendary Steel is 300 separate Legendary combines, which on its own comes to 37,500 Glittering Powder, 7.5 million Darksteel and 30 million Copper.
The full bill for a Legendary Dragon material
How much you pay depends on the grade you start combining from. Here is one Legendary Dragon material (any of the five, since the recipe size is identical) priced from three starting points:
- From Epic materials: 5,000 Epic inputs, 62,500 Glittering Powder, 12,500,000 Darksteel, 50,000,000 Copper
- From Rare materials: 50,000 Rare inputs, 187,500 Glittering Powder, 37,500,000 Darksteel, 150,000,000 Copper
- From Uncommon materials: 500,000 Uncommon inputs, 287,500 Glittering Powder, 87,500,000 Darksteel, 250,000,000 Copper
The Rare to Epic step is the expensive middle. It adds 125,000 Glittering Powder and 100 million Copper on top of the Epic start, because 5,000 Epic combines come before the 500 Legendary ones. Buying or saving Epic materials instead of combining them yourself skips the biggest chunk of the fee.
Lower grades are far gentler. An Epic Dragon material from Rare inputs costs 12,500 Glittering Powder, 2,500,000 Darksteel and 10,000,000 Copper. A Rare one from Uncommon inputs costs just 1,000 Glittering Powder, 500,000 Darksteel and 1,000,000 Copper.
One caveat on all of these: they count the combines only. The last step, where the three Legendary materials become the Dragon material itself, charges its own fee on top, so the in-game total comes out slightly higher.
Where the Glittering Powder goes
Glittering Powder is the fee that surprises people, because it is spent in two systems at once. The material combines above use it, and so does every Eternal material upgrade for Dragon Artifacts. A single Legendary Eternal upgrade costs 2,500 Glittering Powder, twenty times the 125 a Legendary material combine takes.
It mostly arrives in small amounts: Glittering Powder Boxes, Clan Expedition loot boxes and Clan Support Boxes all carry it, the support boxes somewhere between 5 and 150 at a time. Against a Legendary chain measured in six figures, it pays to decide which project gets your Powder before you start combining.
How Dragon materials feed Dragon Artifacts
Most Legendary Dragon materials end up in a Dragon Artifact. Each artifact is a single craft that takes three items at the target grade: Eternal Material, one Dragon material and one Dragon Sphere, plus a Dragonsteel and Darksteel fee.
- Rare: 10 Eternal Material, 25 Dragonsteel, 250,000 Darksteel
- Epic: 30 Eternal Material, 250 Dragonsteel, 2,500,000 Darksteel
- Legendary: 50 Eternal Material, 2,500 Dragonsteel, 25,000,000 Darksteel
The Dragon material and the Sphere are one each at every grade. Which ones you need depends on the piece: the Majestic Scepter takes Eternal Steel and a Dragon Scale, the Cape takes Eternal Coldsteel and a Dragon Leather, and the Tome takes Eternal Cold Jade and a Dragon Eye. The Seal follows the Scepter's Eternal with a Dragon Claw, and the Crown follows the Tome's with a Dragon Horn. Those two pairings follow the pattern of the first three and have not yet been checked against an in-game craft screen.
The Eternal Material is where the artifact bill grows. One Eternal of a grade takes 10 of the grade below plus a fee: an Epic upgrade costs 500 Glittering Powder, 500 Life Essence, 5 Dragonsteel and 50,000 Darksteel, and a Legendary upgrade costs 2,500 Glittering Powder, 2,500 Life Essence, 25 Dragonsteel and 250,000 Darksteel.
A Legendary Dragon Artifact built from Rare Eternal Material needs 5,000 Rare Eternal, 375,000 Glittering Powder, 375,000 Life Essence, 6,250 Dragonsteel and 62,500,000 Darksteel, plus one Legendary Dragon material and one Legendary Dragon Sphere.
An Epic piece is a much smaller job: 300 Rare Eternal, 15,000 Glittering Powder, 15,000 Life Essence, 400 Dragonsteel and 4,000,000 Darksteel. Already holding 50 Legendary Eternal? Then a Legendary craft is just the flat 2,500 Dragonsteel and 25,000,000 Darksteel fee.
The Dragon Sphere is often what actually holds a plan up. It cannot be crafted; it drops from Request, Summon and Summon Boss, one per artifact at the artifact's grade.
Other places your Legendary Dragon materials go
Artifacts are not the only sink, which is worth knowing before you spend a Scale you could have saved. Invoke turns 3 Legendary Dragon materials into an attempt at a Divine Dragon's Soul, the item behind Mythic gear awakening, and it is guaranteed on the sixth try if the first five fail. Divine Dragon Descent unlocks a Legendary Pressure Point with 1 Legendary Dragon material (or 2 Legendary Divine Dragon's Keys) plus 100 Dragonsteel.
Mythic, by the way, is not a material grade. Dragon materials stop at Legendary, and Mythic gear comes from awakening a Tier 4 Legendary item at Stage 15 with that Divine Dragon's Soul.
Base prices, events and old videos
Every number in this guide is a base price. Wemade halved the Dragon Artifact Dragonsteel and Darksteel fees in the August 20, 2024 patch, so an older video showing 5,000 Dragonsteel and 50,000,000 Darksteel for a Legendary piece is out of date.
Limited events also discount Dragon Artifact costs from time to time. Osher's Miraculous Fortune in May 2026, for example, cut artifact enhancement costs for its two weeks. Those prices end with the event, so plan on the base numbers and treat an event as a bonus window to time your crafts around.
Plan it with Mirkit's calculators
Doing this math by hand gets messy the moment you already own part of the chain. Mirkit's Crafting Guide lets you pick the Dragon material, the target grade and the grade you want to combine from, then type in what you already hold, normal and tradable. It returns how many combines each step needs, what is left to farm, and the Glittering Powder, Darksteel and Copper total.
Price any Dragon material chain from the materials you already own.
Open the Crafting GuideThe Dragon Artifact calculator does the same for the Majestic Scepter, Cape, Crown, Seal and Tome: pick a piece and grade, enter your Eternal Material, and it walks the upgrade chain and adds the craft fee on top. Both calculators are free. Mirkit's market page, which tracks the cheapest listing per item and region, is being reworked right now and will be the place to check material prices once it is back.

Can you craft a Mythic Dragon material in MIR4?
No. Dragon materials stop at Legendary. Mythic gear comes from awakening a Tier 4 Legendary item at Stage 15 with a Divine Dragon's Soul, which is invoked from 3 Legendary Dragon materials.
Do tradable materials count toward a Dragon material craft?
Yes. The game spends tradable and normal crafting materials the same way, so both count toward the 300 + 100 + 100 recipe and toward every 10 to 1 combine.
Do Dragon Scale and Dragon Claw use the same materials?
Yes. Both take 300 Steel, 100 Evil Minded Orb and 100 Moon Shadow Stone at the target grade. Dragon Horn and Dragon Eye share a recipe too: Platinum, Illuminating Fragment and Anima Stone.
